Calls are open for the UKRI Innovate UK “secure innovations” grant supported pilot initiative, which has just opened and runs to 31 Mar 24. It’s a joint initiative between Innovate UK who support Small & medium sized enterprises, and two Government agencies- the National Protective Security Authority (NPSA) and the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC).

The scheme targets eligible SMEs in the technology sector, and of particular interest are start-ups especially those supported by academic institutions. SMEs wishing to take part in the scheme apply through Innovate UK, and if successful get a security audit worth £2500 producing an assessment, advice and signposting further guidance and activities. The audits and engagement is conducted by a security consultant jointly accredited by NPSA and NCSC. More details of the scheme can be found here: https://www.npsa.gov.uk/secure-innovation
