Runway Resources

Runway works with a number of partners to provide various types of technical, legal and prototyping support.

AWS Activate

Runway is an official Amazon Activate Provider. Through this we are able to offer access to a wide range of free cloud compute, web, database and AI services alongside training and further support.

Almost all companies depend on some form of computing from a front end webpage to back end data-crunching or app hosting. Runway is partnered with the Amazon Activate start-up support programme which can help accelerate your companies deployment on the web.

If you think you might need any of the following then speak to your Runway mentor to get a reference link to set up an account.

Runway and Amazon can provide you with the following benefits:

  • AWS Activate Credits from $1,000 to $100,000 USD (according to milestones and partner affiliation) for AWS services from infrastructure technologies like compute, storage, and databases–to emerging technologies, such as machine learning and artificial intelligence, data lakes and analytics, and Internet of Things. The credits are built to grow with the startup, therefore entrepreneurs can benefit from a $5K package and support credits.
  • Assistance with navigating within AWS/Amazon teams and 1:1 Business Office Hours (investor deck review, connections, etc).
  • Office hours – are dedicated 1:1 time with an AWS Startup Solution Architect. These appointments are an opportunity to get advice, help, guidance and answers from an experienced AWS technical and product expert. The Solution Architect will be able to answer technical questions about AWS, and will work to ensure AWS architecture is optimized. Although these sessions are recommended for later stage teams or those with tech dependencies, startups do not need to be an AWS user to schedule a session. The Solution Architect will answer any questions or address needs around migration on to AWS or technology as a whole. https://aws-startuploft-emea.com/meet-aws-expert
  • AWS Guest Lectures – various lectures and workshops for technical students or non-technical students. For example, “Amazon Culture of Innovation”, “Ideation”, “Modern Application Development on AWS”, “Infusing AI/ML in your products”, etc.
  • AWS Startup Loft Virtual Events – https://aws-startuploft-emea.com/events
  • Lastly, you can find even more AWS programs and services offered to startups in this post – https://www.vccafe.com/2021/01/22/how-can-startups-engage-amazon-and-aws

Genie AI legal

Runway is supported in partnership with Genie AI, the UKʼs largest open source legal library, to provide students with free access to legal templates and clauses. The partnership aims to empower the next generation of entrepreneurs with all the legal contracts they need to start and grow a business.

As part of the startup journey, founders need a range of legal contracts, from founder and collaboration agreements to patent assignments and term sheets. With Genie AI, users can find, draft, edit and sign legally-sound contracts in minutes. With this partnership, Genie AIʼs legal template library will be accessible to all Centre students, cutting an average of £30k in legal costs in the run up to their Series A funding round.

As part of the partnership, Genie AI team members will also provide mentoring to Runway members. Students at the University of Bristol can claim increased access to Genie AI today using this unique sign-up link.
