A Design Accelerator by Runway to demonstrate the impact young people can have on accelerating a just transition to Net Zero. This will be an excellent opportunity to develop teamworking and presentation skills sought after by employers. Taking part in this project contributes 30 hours to the Bristol Plus Award

Runway supports student start-ups across the University of Bristol. We’re organising a programme of support for students wishing to accelerate progress towards a more sustainable future with external partners including local government and Friends of the Earth.

Students will form teams and design a project related to one of the challenges, with mentoring provided by university staff and wider Bristol innovators. Challenges include the role of AI in climate justice and inclusive innovation for the future of transport. The programme will run for 8 weeks from 25th January to 21st March on Thursday evenings between 6:00pm and 7:30pm.

The objective is to research and develop projects which are capable of being taken forward as pilots by the challenge owners. Student teams will co-produce a new product or process with a group representing the customer or beneficiary. Successful projects will be invited to present their work at a showcase event on 7 May.
