Conception X’s free nine-month programme helps PhD students to explore entrepreneurship and launch deeptech startups based on their research. You take part in entrepreneurship training designed for scientists and engineers, meet fellow entrepreneurial students from around the country, connect with industry experts and become eligible for innovation grants, awards and venture capital funding.
The programme runs alongside your PhD, so you don’t need to make any immediate, life-altering decisions when you join. Its two-track approach supports you whether you’re starting to think about how to commercialise your research and your career post-PhD, or if you’re ready to launch or accelerate your startup.
Our partnership with XTX Ventures supports 6-12 new companies per cohort – focusing on AI, quantum computing, robotics, biotech and other transformative areas of deep technology – with a typical cheque size of £100,000.
